The electronic toll collection system viaTOLL has been implemented in Poland.
The viaTOLL system is obligatory for every driver travelling on the indicated toll road network by a motor vehicle or a combination of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of over 3.5 tonnes.
We kindly notify you that due to the expected increased traffic of heavy vehicles on the Polish-Slovakian border in the period between 11-12.05.2012, working hours of the Border Distribution Point in Chyżne will be extended.
As the date of an availability of viaTOLL to the drivers of cars with maximum permissible weight ≤ 3.5 tonnes is approaching, the internet website of the system has been expanded. From 1 June 2012 the drivers of those vehicles will be able to choose voluntarily whether they want to settle the toll, for the use of sections of the GDDKiA managed motorways, in a manual or an electronic manner, joining the viaTOLL system. Therefore, they already have an opportunity to learn about both payment methods.
We kindly notify you that as of 31st March 2012 the location of a viaTOLL Border Distribution Point in Kołbaskowo will be changed. The unit, currently in the German part of the former border crossing will be transferred to the Polish side to the restaurant "Restauracja Bez Granic". The transfer will bear no influence on the services available to the customers. Starting from Saturday 31st March 2012, 2 pm the unit will be open operating 24 hrs.
The Ministry for Transport, Construction and Marine Management released a project “Regulation of the Council of Ministers amending the regulation on national roads or their sections, where electronic toll is collected and the rates of electronic toll charges” [link]. Pursuant to the project, from 1 July 2012 the toll road network in Poland will expand by more sections.
On 1 June 2012 manual toll collection system will be activated on the GDDKiA managed Bielany Wrocławskie-Sośnica section of the A4 motorway. All vehicles with maximum permissible weight less than or equal 3.5 t will be subject to toll on this section of the road.
